Is it drunk? Hungover? Hangry? Horny? Confused about the country's current state of affairs?
Doesn't matter. Our new favorite emoji, known as "the woozy face emoji," is perfect for every occasion—and we've noticed an uptick in its usage within our group texts recently.
Perhaps it's the news. Baffled by the Justice Department’s summary of special counsel Robert Mueller’s findings? Woozy emoji. Arguing with friends about whether Elizabeth Holmes' black turtleneck uniform is chic or sociopathic? Woozy emoji. The perfect response to an unsolicited dick pic?

Woozy. Emoji.
The strange, yet comforting face has an uneven, squiggly grimace. It has rosy cheeks and an arched raised eyebrow. One eye is open, the other is squinting as if trying, in a drunken stupor, to make letters on the brightly lit McDonald's menu unscramble after one too many dirty martinis.
It came into existence last year, according to Emojipedia, the go-to blog about emojis. It has an official name, “Face With Uneven Eyes and Wavy Mouth." We prefer woozy.
The site describes woozy as, "A yellow face with a crumpled mouth and a cockeyed expression, as if tired and emotional from inebriation or smitten with love. Depicted with raised or furrowed eyebrows and at least one eye half-open. WhatsApp's design features a tongue hanging out."
According to the site, "meaning widely varies," but woozy "commonly conveys intoxication or infatuation. Its dazed expression may also represent such feelings or states as bewilderment, irritation, disgust, exhaustion, wackiness, or complete satisfaction."
At the time of woozy's release, Apple released a statement saying, "Emoji are used by people all over the world to communicate. iOS 12.1 brings even more characters to the keyboard that better represent global users, including new emoji for moon cake, red gift envelope and nazar amulet."
The beauty of woozy is its ability to reflect a vast array of emotions and situations, which people on Twitter have pointed out. Some great interpretations:
"When that probiotic hits..."
"This the face you make in 3rd grade when your crush blesses your sneeze."
"This how every one be when they get their picture taken at the DMV"
And, the best, Dwayne Johnson, who uses woozy in two very different ways.
Go forth and woozy, friends. Whether that's describing how f*cking awesome you are, or just letting a friend know you need to pass gas.
