The fashion set has loved RHODE’s apparel for years, as the label is known for its gorgeous prints, subdued color palettes, and unique silhouettes. In essence, RHODE makes the perfect pieces for all your summer social outings. And now—as of earlier this week—you can dress your home in RHODE as well with the brand’s new West Elm collection.
The 40-piece line was designed with entertaining and hosting in mind. Items are priced from $39–330 and are available exclusively at WestElm.com
RHODE co-founders Phoebe Vickers and Purna Khatau tell ELLE.com that when the iconic homeware brand approached them, they jumped at the opportunity.
“Working closely with the West Elm team on the product assortment, we developed a color palette and range of prints that we felt would resonate with the West Elm customer while feeling fresh and exciting,” says Vickers.
Read on for more from Vickers and Khatau, plus a sneak peek at some of our favorite pieces from the launch.
Have you always wanted to foray into home?
Phoebe Vickers: Yes, absolutely. From the very beginning, our aspiration for RHODE has been to transform it into a comprehensive lifestyle brand, and venturing into the realm of home decor was a natural progression for us. We firmly believe that color and pattern should not be limited to our wardrobes alone. The home, in our view, serves as an equally important extension of a person’s personality, allowing them to express their unique sense of style and create a space that truly reflects who they are.
How did you translate the idea of the RHODE fashion customer into a newfound RHODE home customer?
Purna Khatau: The traditional RHODE fashion customer has developed an appreciation and trust in our aesthetic over time. They’ve felt a shift firsthand when they choose to wear a RHODE dress in the morning, to a more joyful and positive mindset throughout their day. In turn, we hope the emerging RHODE home customer will want to bring that same lightness of mood and joyful energy to their home environment with our pieces.
What was your inspiration?
PV: The inspiration for the collection began with a mood. The warmer days of summer, a breeze blowing through the house, all the windows open, and guests on the way. It was all about relaxation and enjoyment, whether in the home by oneself or celebrating with others. When it came to the prints, a constant source of inspiration for the brand is India, where Purna is from, and where the brand began.
Are there elements of West Elm infused into the pieces, or is it pure RHODE?
PK: Yes, there are definitely elements of West Elm infused in the pieces, they know their customer well and have a real understanding of what products resonate. Their team also had a great understanding of our brand and overall design sensibility, and working with them was a true collaboration and, honestly, a lot of fun.
Do you have a favorite piece?
PV: We love the wicker breakfast tray and all of the tableware. The craftsmanship in each piece is beautiful, and we love how the pieces turned out.
Is there more home in RHODE’s future?
PV: Yes, we are currently in development for our next home collection. We are beyond excited about what is to come!
