Lanvin has gone through some turmoil since beloved artistic director Alber Elbaz was dismissed from his position in 2015. Since then, the brand has seen a few artistic directors come and go (plus collections that were widely panned by critics). Could new creative director Bruno Sialelli be the light at the end of the tunnel?
Named just a month ago, Sialelli made his runway debut for the French fashion house today to many curious show goers. Formerly employed by Loewe, the designer brought many of the same style codes to his new job—from the luxe crafty elements and hodgepodge of fabrics to similar color schemes and silhouettes. The outerwear, knits, and bags were a highlight, as were the interesting color pairings like brown and lavender; baby pink and burnt sienna. Could this be the return of the once editor-loved brand? It's too early to tell, but Sialelli is off to an auspicious start.
