Banana Republic Wants to Satisfy Your Plaid Needs This Winter
Coats, shoes, skirts, and more!
This winter, Banana Republic is teaming up with Scotland's Harris Tweed mill for a limited-edition collection of men's and women's gear that will fulfill every plaid fantasy you've ever had. After traveling to the Harris Tweed Hebrides, a well-known mill in Scotland, the Banana Republic design team created 12 pieces featuring Harris Tweed's signature fabrics. "Having the opportunity to work with these extraordinary fabrics and travel to the Isle of Lewis, where the Harris Tweed weavers create these beautiful patterns was such a privilege and inspiring," Omar Nobil, senior design director at Banana Republic, wrote via email. "We were invited into the homes of several weavers, who by regulation, weave each lot of fabric on looms typically set up in a barn attached to their house. That, combined with the landscape on the Isle—the color and light is so unique—made for a natural inspiration for the exclusive pattern we developed with Harris Tweed."
Check out the five women's pieces, including a plaid bomber jacket, tailored coat, and pumps, available beginning November 9 at select Banana Republic flagship stores and on bananarepublic.com.
