It didn't take long after TMZ broke the news that Taylor Swift and Matty Healy ended their whirlwind romance for a source to explain why. Entertainment Tonight got more detailed intel from an insider.
The reasons Swift and Healy broke up aren't all too surprising, given Swift just ended her six-year relationship with Joe Alwyn in March. The source explained, “Taylor and Matty broke up. They are both extremely busy and realized they're not really compatible with each other. Taylor's friends want what's best for her and aren't shocked that their relationship fizzled out since she recently got out of a long-term relationship.”
Swift not yet commented on the news, nor has Healy. Both musicians are currently on tour.
On April 20, shortly before news of Swift's romance with The 1975 singer broke, a source spoke to Us about Swift's outlook on relationships.
The source said she's “adjusting to the single life.” That insider stressed she did not intend to date anyone seriously imminently. “She isn’t dating anybody and isn’t even thinking about getting into another relationship anytime soon.”
When Healy and Swift first started dating, a source spoke to Us about Swift being a bit hesitant given her recent breakup. The insider said on May 8, She “isn’t sure [she’s] ready to commit [to something] so soon.”
As TMZ pointed out, Swift and Healy were last seen together on May 25. Healy got media attention over the weekend for kissing a security guard during his group's Denmark concert. Swift, meanwhile, made headlines for accidentally swallowing a bug during her Chicago show.
